Few enough people to fit around one supra table — and to change plans when the mountains ask.

Journal
From late September into mid-October the valleys turn red and gold. When to go, which walks to choose and what to pack for cold nights.
Distances, passes, where to sleep and the one river crossing you’ll remember — everything we tell our groups before the classic Svaneti traverse.
Candle-shaped sweets, blue fenugreek and four kinds of cheese: a short guide to the market halls where Georgian cooking begins.
